Milton Caricature
My best friend’s dad asked if I could draw him. He’s essentially my “other dad” and he doesn’t ask for much, so I had to hop on this! I’m going to put some lighting on it tomorrow, and I think it will be good. Everything is put on hold until this is done!

Wonder Woman
I did this originally as a small sketch at work, but then I decided I might as well color it and digitally ink it in Illustrator to work on some of my new techniques I've been doing with my art. I have to say, now that it's all done, I really dig my WW illustration. Sometimes we surprised ourselves.
I'm glad I drew her, she is one I have only drawn once or twice at conventions for requests, and generally those don't look too hot under the time restraint and 360 degree distractions.
One final note, she needs her own movie Time Warner! Just watch that direct to video animated feature, it was amazing. I loved it! They seriously need her kicking ass in celluloid (well technically it's all digital film these days).

30DaysComics Day 21 Movie Night
#30DaysComics Day 21 - "Movie Night"
There's always someone who either wants to sit directly in front of me when there is nobody else in the theater, or someone in my row has a very small bladder and has to squeeze across my seat in the most inopportune times.

#30DaysComics #18 - Heart to Heart
Trying a few new things, including a smaller page size and less panels. I’m also trying not to nail down the perfect comic, but just trying to go with the flow. I came up with three last night at work, and I’ll be posting the other two tomorrow for catch up. Hoping this is a sign of things to come!
BTW, special thanks to Dakota McFadzean and Ian of SmallComix for giving me such great advice!

30 Days Comics Day 16 "Atari"
Another diary comic style page. This time it’s about my memories of playing Donkey Kong on the Atari 2600 and later arcade. I had a lot of fun with this one, and digitally drew everything but the atari and arcade panels, which I drew on paper.
The story itself doesn’t have too much “meat,” but I think it’s a decent entry for the strip. Sometimes I spend more time trying to come up with a decent idea for the 30 Days Comics entry that I can’t even start drawing until the evening or the next day. I know I’m not fast, but I am learning. I really like doing something once a day whether it’s a hit or miss. It’s really tempering my willingness to produce whether or not I’m 100% ready. Can’t always just wait to capture lightning in a bottle, more often or not the creativity has to bloom in the process of making art.

Wednesday and Pugsley Addams Portrait
Wednesday and Pugsley's portraits are now complete. I’m really picky though, it will probably change. I had two people suggest making Pugsley chubbier, so I am definitely going to alter that in the next couple days.
Three members of the Addams Family complete, five members left. I’m also thinking of doing a “family portrait” style group shot and another picture of just the mansion.

30 Days Comics Day 13 - "Small Talk"
My newest submission for 30 Days Comics challenge. I tried using a fun
palette instead of coloring it more realistically. I think it made it
pop a big. Reminds me of the cartoon "Witch's Night Out."
As you can tell, I hate small talk while trying to dash in and out of a store. Less disingenuous human interaction, the better.

Gomez Addams attempt 1 and 2
I’ve been pouring over Charles Addams and Dan DeCarlo’s art. Such
inspirations to me. I decided to take a crack at my interpretation of
the Addams Family.
The top is my final design, the second is my second attempt, and the bottom is my first attempt.
The final rendition I fixed his cigar, and gave Gomez the John Astin signature devious smile. Really grateful to so much constructive criticism on this piece.
The second attempt I went straight for a John Astin look, rather than the previous attempt that was a blend of John Astin and Raúl Juliá’s features with the initial design. I think the previous attempt turned him into a young Cesar Romero.
I still need to flip the cigar. I totally wasn’t even thinking when I drew it lit. I was basing it on an Astin photo with an unlit cigar.

30 Days Comics 11 Asthma
45 minutes before November 11th, I was able to squeeze
another page for #30DaysComics. I’m having fun using this time to
experiment with storytelling, layout, and color palette. Generally I aim
to print my minicomics, so more often than not they are grayscale.
Figured I would try a more contemplative entry, almost journal comic like. I find thoughts on the day or even researched pages like my Jack-o-lantern page easier than jokes. Jokes just don’t fall into my lap, I have to squeeze them out of my brain all day like the final drops of toothpaste in a tube.
I like this one quite a bit. I wonder what other asthmatics would think of it.
Regarding the art. My brush pen died after the 2nd panel. I have to order more from Jet Pens. Can you tell the shift?
Side Note: I have Captain America vs The Asthma Monster comic framed in the living room with several other cherished comics.

#30DaysComics Challenge Day 10 - "Chop Shop"
Still not managing to make a comic a day, but I am trying! This I actually came up with yesterday, and penciled, inked, colored, and lettered in only a few hours. I’m sure you can see the rush on it. I hope the idea is humorous enough to hold up for the lack of craftsmanship. I also wanted to see what a sepia tone would look like on this piece.

30 Days Comic Challenge Day 7 - Pacific Rim
Drew this a few days ago, but hadn't much time to finish inking or
coloring it until today. Really slacking with this 30DaysComics
challenge! Well, if anything, I am working out some ideas. Some are
interesting, and some are duds. I'm not sure if people will like the
ridiculous absurdity of this one.

30 Days Comics Challenge Day 3 Jack O' Lantern History
Just recently heard about the 30 Days Comcis challenge on twitter and tumblr. This is what I was able to throw together today. I've been down with a cold all weekend, so I drew this on and off between naps. I feel better now, and I'm fairly pleased with the coloring.
Not sure I'll be able to do one every day, but I'll do my best. Also, still working out some kinks in screen printing. Found my transparencies weren't 100% against the emulsion coated silkscreen, so the images are slightly warped and inconsistent for a four color job. Bought some glass to lay on top of the screen while it burns, allowing gravity to fix the trick. That means starting over. Also, I learned that if I am to do silkscreening, I need to work fast with emulsion. My last batch expired after a month or so after mixing with the sensitizer. This just means having to plans three projects at a time, making screens, and setting them aside until I'm ready. So far using just Speedball Diazo emulsion. If there is a longer lasting product, please let me know!
I'm also getting back to my mini comic. I have four pages penciled, and only one digitally inked. I need to hop on it, I want to get some mini comics and zines finished for the next show.
